Dear Donald Trump, Jr.,
I hope this letter finds you hale and hearty, My name is Aparna. Now straight to the matter I shall jump, A word of caution –I’m not an American nor am I a supporter of your party. Why then, am I writing to you, sir? Oh, because I’m worried, and for good reason too! I promise, a controversy I’m not trying to stir, But golden opportunities like this are few! Respected sir, to be very honest, none of your policies have impacted me in any way, In fact, I have zilch interest in politics. However, I was lying on my bed thinking hard about world happenings one day, And wondered why you kept talking about walls and bricks! As an ordinary global citizen, Who really has nothing much to do with you or the affairs of your country, I experienced second hand anxiety from time to time back then, For others like me in America and around the world- people of color and who belonged to groups that are a religious minority. Now sir, don’t get me wrong, I really appreciate a few things you do. You inspire people to keep their twitter game strong, And you’re a reminder to all of us that miracles do really happen and dreams do come true. (If you can be president, anyone can! So, I thank you!) A superpower, had America not been, to you I would not have written, But everything that happens there, invariably impacts the rest of the us. I shall take your leave now, having a lot unsaid and a lot unwritten, For when it comes to you sir, there’s not much we need to discuss. Thank you for your patience and thank you for finally leaving the white house. I look forward to getting a response, soon of course! Feel free to reach out in case you have any doubts. Thank you very much, sincerely yours- Aparna Hari
