protection of women and their safety

18 October
Dear Boris Johnson,
I am writing this letter in order to address this current major issue regarding the safety of women in the UK which has clearly sky rocketed to hundreds of women who are at risk due to lack of protection by the police who themselves are the danger and there is lack of goverment improvement on this issue there isn't any tough restrictions and laws implemented on the safety of women. My reason as to writing this letter is based on my experience as a women my self, as I work late and have to travel back home its the constant calls of concern of my parents to check on me whether I am safe or if there is someone with me. The recent cases of Sabina Nessa and Sarah Everard were distressing to see on the news and the anxiety of lack of protection and fear were on the rise for women in particular. According to the BBC statistics, 207 women were killed last year that is 2020, and in 2019 it was 241 women killed, the highest number in a decade. I would kindly like to suggest the goverment must take vigorous decisions in order to keep women safe and there should be severe consequences for those who mistreat women on street and more action taken which I believe will be done by the goverment as quickly as possible to keep women safe. Please do the needful. Sincerely, Nicole Antanya Rodrigues
